Great to meet you x

Design is my life! I’m an experienced fashion designer that cares deeply about every client. I’ve worked with 100 brands on projects big & small receiving fantastic customer testimonials.

Working with purpose-driven brands is my passion, they are the future! That’s why I use my experience to help start-ups & established brands bring their ideas alive.

My Design Background

After graduating from Nottingham Trent University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Fashion Design, I moved to London and spent 8 years working with respected suppliers, learning from within, & travelling for research trips/factory visits.

Visiting factories regularly helped me understand the whole process fully, see how things actually get made, & understand how to build good relationships. Often on these trips you had to design on the spot, it was intense but helped me build my hand drawing skills & design aesthetic.

I honed my craft designing for commercial high street brands, such as, Topshop, Miss Selfridge, George Asda, the Landmark Group & Primark. There’s no thrill like seeing your designs in real life, selling online & in-store.

Fun fact: Once I walked into the splash stores in Dubai & was overwhelmed with pride at how many of my designs were on the shop floor, they were on the mannequins, & featured in the campaign photos on the walls, it was a pinch me moment in my career.

In 2018, I was ready to leave full time employment to align my career & my passion for sustainability & launched Lottie Woods Design. Now, I take pride helping brands bridge the gap between initial ideas to finalised garments.

My passion is designing with real customers in mind. It’s more than trends, its problem solving, attention to detail & understanding how to create quality garments that are fit for purpose & made to last. That’s what I bring to all of my client work, plus a lot of positive energy.

The design process is second nature to me & I love helping clients launch their dream products. I’m friendly, approachable & reliable, I can’t wait to work with you.

Lottie Woods About Me - Fashion Designer

My Story

I’ve always been creative, drawing in my room as a child. My favourite topics at school were art & textiles, so I decided to merge my interests & go into fashion design. I applied to Nottingham Trent & got in on my first try, without a foundation degree, which was a huge achievement.

After graduating I found a job straight out of university, which was another big achievement, I moved to London on my own & build my new life around my work. After years of hard work in the industry, I started to understand fast fashion was disconnected from my love for creating quality clothes. I learned a lot, but high street fashion can be a fickle business so I knew it was my time to forge a new path.

Scared of the unknown but longing to reconnect with my work. I wanted to work with other likeminded people & purpose driven brands & start a ripple of change.

With my partner, we set off on the adventure of a lifetime, we did beach cleans in Bali, visited factories in Cambodia & travelled through India to see artisanal craft in action. We fell in Love with Cambodia so was chuffed to be able to live & work there. I taught fashion design at a local college. Let me tell you, everyday was a learning experience about my own capabilities, it was amazing to see what you can achieve when you commit & believe in yourself.

Through teaching & working with independent brands, Cambodia gave me the confidence to fully launch my services, my business was born & it has grown from there. Since then I’ve work with close to 100 brands on projects big & small.

Now, I live in Cheltenham in a pink house & have built trustworthy connections to other industry professionals growing the positive connections I always longed for.

I’m building the fashion industry I want to see! If you’d like to learn more, give me a follow on Instagram & sign up to my monthly newsletter at the bottom of the page. Keep in touch!

 Areas I can help

Getting Started & Concept Building

If you’re ready to move forward with your ideas talking with an expert will help create a solid foundation to build upon. I will help you plan the best steps forwards & give you the confidence boost you need to go for it.

Designing Your New Collection

Collaborating with a designer makes a huge difference to the final outcome, building on your ideas, & making sure the products are commercially viable, down to the final details, adding value to your garments, without the headache of doing it all by yourself.

Range & Sample Reviews

It’s time to get into the nuts and blots of your collection & access the designs/the final samples, is there room for improvements? I can help identify areas for improvement & suggest solutions.

Talk Through The Sampling Process

I will go through the step by step process with you, how to get better samples from the beginning, build good relationships with manufacturers & connect you to people who can help.

Tech Pack & Technical Design

This is the bulk of my work, creating final CAD drawings & tech packs. Once you have your tech packs you are ready to start making, this is where the garment starts coming to life - Check out my blog post on why they are important & what my tech packs include.

Incorporating Sustainability Into Your Brand

This is a particular passion of mine, so much so I co-created a course around it. Join my mailing list to find out when the course will be re-launched, or we can make a personal plan of how to build sustainability into your brand & start with feeling.
